Loose Mineral Foundation

Smink's foundations are lightweight and breathable, yet provide excellent coverage. We use a high percentage of silk mica which not only provides a beautiful silky soft feel but which also gives a "soft focus" look by diffusing and reflecting light rays and thereby reducing the appearance of irregularities, texture and wrinkles.

Sensitive skin? Zinc oxide will give you excellent UV protection, and is also soothing and anti-inflammatory. There is absolutely nothing in our foundations that can irritate skin. On the contrary, these ingredients actually protect and benefit the skin! Smink makeup is a wonderful choice for people with rosacea or other skin problems.

Prone to breakouts? I (Anna) break out very easily, but not with this foundation. There are no ingredients that will clog pores, and it is completely oil free! The anti-inflammatory properties of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide actually help heal break-outs!

Application: Apply with a brush for a sheer application, or for more coverage you can use a sponge. A kabuki brush is also an excellent tool for a beautiful and flawless application. This foundation does not require as much effort to apply as most traditional mineral foundations. No buffing is required, and an array of different brushes, tools and finishing powders are not necessary. This is partially due to the fact that our foundations are free of bismuth oxychloride, which is the main ingredient in most "traditional" mineral foundations. Bismuth oxychloride gives foundations a nice ‘creamy’ feel (and it's cheap, which is a big plus for a many manufacturers), but it is also a known skin irritant that causes breakout or even rashes for a significant percentage of people. It is also very 'shiny', or reflective and usually requires a matting agent to counteract this effect. We decided that we did not want this ingredient in our foundations, and instead we use high quality, silky-feeling micas to provide the nice, smooth texture without causing irritation.

We recently had the opportunity to try our makeup brand on a group of super cute girls at a fashion show here in St. John's. The designer was the talented Sara Hodder of Sech Designs. We were more than pleased to see how wearable the foundation is on various skin types and colors. It blends so well with your skin, that it seems to ‘become’ your skin, giving you a soft, glowing and healthy complexion.

Please note: The photos are taken in daylight to best capture the colors, and we try our very best to display the colors as accurately as possible. Still, colors always vary between monitors so we always suggest that you order samples first to try before getting the full size jar.

The "G colors" are neutrals with golden undertones and the "N colors" are true neutrals with both pink and yellow undertones. They go from light (low number) to dark (high number). Ingredients: Mica (CI 77491), Zinc oxide, Titanium dioxide (CI 77891), Magnesium stearate. May contain Iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Chromium oxide greens (CI 77289) and/or Ultramarines (CI 77007) The foundations come packaged in a clear jar with a sifter. The size of the jar is 22.5 ml (0.75 oz) and the net weight is 10 grams. The samples are 1 gram packaged in a zip-lock bag, enough for many applications.

After using this mineral foundation, I immediately tossed all of my drugstore products. It makes your skin feel velvety and glow, it lasts far longer than any liquid I've tried and it doesn't make me break out at all.

I decided to try Tval's mineral makeup when I noticed the first ingredient is actually mica, and not talc and cornstarch like my current mineral makeup. This is a lovely makeup with great coverage with a small amount (and buildable too). I also like the fact that I can mix it with my moisturizer for a tinted look if I want. My skin looks so much better with this than my usual brand :)

I was a die hard bare minerals fan, but hated paying so much for the make up AND hated that I was buying from a large company. I decided to try TVal's Loose Mineral foundation and it is every bit as good as bare minerals, if not better. I love that you ship it all the way to me in Illinois, and I will continue ordering it in the future. I have always had acne-prone skin, and this make up not only covers my scars/redness, but also doesn't contribute to new breakouts.

Excellent for sensitive, oily and acne prone skin! Buildable coverage and SO natural looking! THE best mineral makeup I have found! Comparable (better in my opinion) to brands that charge more than 4 x this!

This foundation is so good. I had really bad acne and started using smink mineral foundation. This product does not irritate the skin at all and it is excellent for covering up the red. I've worn this foundation during the process of getting clearer skin. I highly recommend this product.

I have always said, if I could only take one piece of make up anywhere, it would be my Smink. This product is incredible! It not only covers my skin leaving a flawless appearence, but it feels as if I am not wearing makeup. I also mix it with my oil free

Fantastic product! I've tried two samples g2 and n3 and loved both.Texture is amazing,i do not have any skin problem but this product makes it look even better.Smooth and radiant feel and look.Thank you Elisabeth for the Quo kabuki brush suggestion,it is perfect.BRAVO TVAL!!! et MERCI!!!

This product is amazing!!!

It evens skin tone, covers blemishes and doesn't clog your pores! And it's not shiny at all.

I've tried many other high-end products and this is by far the best.

I have porcelain skin, so it can be very hard to find a foundation that blends without looking fake but N1 makes my skin look flawless!!

I will never buy another foundations.

People, you can blend a bit of this powder with your morning moisturizer and you get the most fantastic tinted moisturizer!

No need for a brush, no buffing, no need for a primer or setting powder etc.
Just blend it in the palm of your hand with your favorite moisturizer and VOILA!
I have tried this trick with other mineral foundations and it just looked like some weird cake batter mix...
This brand is different! Much much better and very easy to use.

Love this product!
I have acne prone skin and this is the ONLY foundation that doesn't give me pimples the next day!
I have tried other mineral foundations and found them hard to apply. This one is absolutely the most "user friendly" i have found. The best thing about this mineral foundation is that it is not shinny like many others. A shinny foundation on my skin makes the small pitted acne scar stand out 100 times more!
I bought 2 samples to try the colors and they blend so well with my skin tone, either one would do.
Perfect, light powder foundation!

I just HAD to enter a note about this product - it\'s crazy! I have cystic acne, a bit of rosacea, am sensitive to many products and am 40 - therefore I am starting to see some signs of aging in my skin. It is always a nightmare for me to try something new, but not in this case. I have used this foundation for three weeks now and just cannot believe how wonderful it is! Easy to apply, beautiful finish, no shine, stays put all day, does not accentuate blemishes or lines - just amazing. I know I am not imagining that the overall appearance of my skin has improved since I\'ve started using it. I really recommend anyone to give this a whirl, particularly if you have problem skin. I am a total fan! Thanks so much for creating this!

I have extremely sensitive skin and break out when I use supposedly hypoallergenic or problem skin foundation just two days in a row. What\'s more, I hate the feeling of even the sheerest drug store brand make up. But I just love Tval\'s mineral makeup. It blends completely with my face creams, I can barely feel it when applied directly to my face, and after two weeks of wearing it- no break outs!
