Tvål was started in 2003 by Anna Hellqvist and her better half Jason Bailey. Both of them have a PhD in biology, and Anna also has many years of almost obsessive soap making and product developmnet under her belt! In 2005 they were joined by Jason's brother Robert Bailey, who has worked as a makeup artist for a very popular makeup company for 14 years. Now there are six of us working at Tvål: Anna, Bobby, Annette, Fiona, Andrea and Julia and boy, do we have fun at work! :)
Our philosophy
We believe that people want more out of their skin care. Something unique, something made with a purpose. Our products are made with care in small batches. We develop and make every product ourselves. We want to know what's in it, so we can let you know too. Soap is our passion. We love what we do, and we hope that it shows through in every bar of soap or jar of cream. Remember...Life is too short to use bad soap!
About our Mineral Makeup
It has taken us a year to develop this line, and many formulas have been developed, tested and discarded. They were all good, but that was not enough. Mineral makeup has so many advantages, they are free from cheap fillers, synthetics, preservatives and fragrances. They can safely be used on even the most sensitive skins (they are even beneficial for your skin!). But sometimes they lack a bit in application and wearability, and that is what we felt that we had to work on. From Bobby's point of view as a makeup artist, the application had to be smooth and the pay off of the colors had to be excellent. From Anna's point of view as a consumer, the colors had to be pretty and wearable and the makeup had to last all day. We can finally say that we are more than happy with the results, and hope that you will be too!
